What shipped

Research Factory runs bounded asynchronous experiments under an explicit objective, workspace, cadence, budget, active-work cap, evaluator, and stopping policy. The dashboard, Python SDK, and MCP expose the same preview → confirmation → receipt → outputs loop.

  • Manual wakes preview exactly one due experiment before execution.
  • Confirmation replays the preview’s resolved request and returns a bound receipt.
  • The dashboard exposes continuous (15-minute minimum), hourly, daily, and weekly cadence, plus budget and active-work caps.
  • Factory status centers experiments, comparisons, artifacts, visuals, reports, WorkProducts, and candidate improvements.
  • Operators can pause future wakes and open produced WorkProducts directly.

Start

bash
uv add "synth-ai[research]==0.15.2"

Follow the Research Factory guide, use the hosted Managed Research MCP tools, or open /smr/factories in the dashboard.

The hero Craftax example is [EVIDENCE:CRAFTAX_RUN]; its WorkProduct is [EVIDENCE:WORKPRODUCT].

Constraints

Research Factory does not guarantee improvement or unrestricted access. Pausing future wakes does not cancel an active run. “24/7” describes scheduled asynchronous operation; long-horizon durability claims wait for their explicit 24-hour, 72-hour, 12-cycle, and 30-day receipts.

  • Launch candidate: [EVIDENCE:CORE_CANDIDATE]
  • SDK/MCP journey: [EVIDENCE:SDK_MCP_JOURNEY]
  • Dashboard journey: [EVIDENCE:DASHBOARD_JOURNEY]
  • Production smoke: [EVIDENCE:PRODUCTION_SMOKE]
