Synth Workshop v0.2.0 is the second friends release for Apple silicon Macs. It is an ad-hoc-signed, unnotarized build; updates remain manual.
New
- Synth Cloud Laguna S uses the dedicated native Responses gateway with source-owned production routing.
- Local Laguna XS inference includes managed model downloads, removal, and memory controls.
- Trace V5 imports, Craftax rollout inspection, and a first-class visual library are available in the native app.
- Synth account sign-in includes cloud allowance, plan, and device-usage views.
Improved
- Cloud inference routing is checked into the Desktop source and fails closed instead of accepting a mutable endpoint override.
- Composer controls for permissions, model choice, and thinking level are more compact.
- Local inference throughput, latency, cache, request telemetry, and provider-specific billing authority are clearer.
- The stable-channel update check stays quiet while offline and always sends users to the official download page.
Fixed
- Synth Cloud Laguna uses source-owned local, staging, and production gateway routing rather than the backend compatibility route.
- Deleted managed Laguna selections resolve back to the canonical managed-model root.
- Local model-path warnings stay with Local Laguna instead of dominating Synth Cloud sessions.
- Auto-compaction preserves model-aware defaults and never falls back to a 16k limit.
- Native Synth Cloud turns send full history with response storage disabled for stateless tool continuation.
- Bundled local services preserve the macOS app signature after launch.
Release record
- The binary and its provenance are attached to the Synth Desktop v0.2.0 GitHub release.
- v0.2.0 supports macOS 14+ on Apple silicon. On first launch, macOS may require Control-click → Open or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
